Whole genome sequencing has shown that various single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), i.e., single nucleotide variations in the DNA sequence that occur in more than 1% of the population, of ABCB5 were associated with cancer occurrence in sarcoma and hepatocellular carcinoma (rs2074000, rs58795451, rs751879475, rs73684574, rs78879263, rs78155891, rs75494098, rs4721940, rs10254317)[66,88]. Here, ABCB5 is linked to cancer.
