Another gene that was differentially expressed in the Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia late Erythroid cells was MZB1. As no expression of this gene was detected in normal BM Erythroid cells, detected MZB1 in late (CD36-negative, CD235-positive) bone marrow Erythroid cells could be potentially indicative of an ongoing ALL. Here, MZB1 is linked to acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
