In vivo experiments involving subcutaneous tumor formation in nude mice revealed that, compared with those in the control group, the volume and weight of subcutaneously transplanted tumors were significantly increased in mice with ZMIZ2 ectopic expression (NCI-H1299, volume: empty vector versus ZMIZ2: 122.4 ± 19.8 mm3 versus 1168.0 ± 220.8 mm3, P = 0.0015; weight: 74.2 ± 17.9 mg versus 420.0 ± 31.7 mg, P < 0.0001) (Fig. 2G–I). This evidence concerns the gene ZMIZ2 and neoplasm.
