IL5 and asthma: Medications that are currently used to relieve asthma symptoms in the clinic are inhaled corticosteroids (ICSs), leukotriene receptor antagonists (LTRAs), long-acting beta-agonists (LABAs) in combination with an ICS, long-acting muscarinic receptor antagonists (LAMAs), monoclonal antibody immune-modulating drugs, mast cell stabilizing medications, methylxanthine drugs, and biologic substances, such as anti-IL-5 therapy and anti-IgE therapy.
