Consistently, downregulation of EFHD1 in two breast cancer cell types, HCC1500 and EFM19, with the highest EFHD1 protein expression compared to the median of all CCLE lines (5.99-fold and 5.91-fold, respectively), resulted in a dramatic decrease in cell viability and proliferation (Fig. 5J,K) that was not accompanied by a change in invasive potential (Fig. EV5F). Here, EFHD1 is linked to breast cancer.
