Intriguingly, chromosomal translocation of t(9;22)(q34;q11) results in the fusion oncogene BCR-ABL1, which is characteristic of the HSC-derived chronic myelogenous leukemia, but also present in acute lymphoblastic leukemia49–51. The gene discussed is ABL1; the disease is chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive.
