NLGN1 and memory impairment: We have recently shown that a synthetic peptide, neurolide, modeled after part of the binding site of NL1 to NX1β, mimics biological properties of the NL1 ectodomain [22], stimulates phosphorylation of the NMDA receptor subunit in vitro, and rescues an MK-801-induced decrease in long-term potentiation (LTP) and memory impairment [23].
