In 2022, the Hereditary Ovarian Cancer Clinical Study Group also showed in a case–control study with 1,733 matched couples that the use of an oral contraceptive in BRCA1/2-pV carriers leads to a significantly reduced risk of ovarian cancer (OR 0.59; 95% CI 0.49–0.71) (Xia et al. 2022). This evidence concerns the gene BRCA1 and ovarian carcinoma.
