UMOD and hypertensive disorder: A European population genome-wide association study (GWAS) of blood pressure extremes discovered that the minor G allele of a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) (rs13333226) in the cis-promoter of uromodulin was associated with a lower risk of hypertension, lower urinary uromodulin (uUMOD) level and increased estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) [11].
