Among those not receiving ART, the TB rate was 22 per 1000 person-years (95% CI, 20.9–23.1); those who had a CD4 count of 200 cells/μL or less at the time of HIV diagnosis and those who developed AIDS also had significantly rather higher TB rates at 28 (95% CI, 27.4–28.6) and 29.1 (95% CI, 28.6–29.6) per 1000 person-years, respectively. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and tuberculosis.
