Consistent with this, our previous studies and others have shown that treatment of mouse cochleas with a Wnt activator, or infection of chicken cochleas with a Wnt-ligand-expressing virus showed an increase in Jag1, or the chicken homologue, Serrate1 (Jacques et al., 2012; Munnamalai and Fekete, 2016; Munnamalai et al., 2017).
