Paternal HCD feeding did not significantly affect atherosclerosis development in the male offspring since F1 male LDLR–/– mice from HCD-fed sires had similar lesion sizes at the aortic root (63,910.06 ± 14,110.76 μm2 versus 83,190.78 ± 18,068.08 μm2) and BCA (840.31 ± 397.60 μm2 versus 1,267.31 ± 303.04 μm2) as compared with male offspring from LCD-fed sires (Figure 3, A and B). This evidence concerns the gene LDLR and atherosclerosis.
