ALDH1A3 and neoplasm: This data suggests that ALDH1A3 knockdown in MDA-MB-468 cells could provide a tumor growth advantage for this cell line [29] since the loss of ALDH1A3 makes the cells generate more ATP from aerobic glycolysis, which is required for tumor growth and progression in vivo [57–62] and aerobic glycolysis is minimal in the cell line (Fig. 4C).
