In the present study, we demonstrated an increase in the number of newly diagnosed patients with ATTRwt from 2017 to 2022 with a trend towards a rise in the number of patients classified with NAC disease stage I. The diagnostic red flags identified were primarily cardiac-related ATTR signs, that is, heart failure in patients with increased left ventricular wall thickness, elevated NT-proBNP, impaired GLS with an apical sparing pattern and elevated troponins. This evidence concerns the gene NPPB and heart failure.
