Most recently, Wang et al. found that RUNX1 intronic transcript 1 (RUNX1-IT1), known as a tumor driver lncRNA in breast cancer, directly interacts with IGF2BP1 and partitions into BioMCs, thereby occupying and stabilizing glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) mRNA, and then promoting GPX4 protein expression while repressing ferroptosis 124. Here, GPX4 is linked to breast carcinoma.
