Although Hspb1 upregulation is typically linked to Hsf1, a primary transcription factor for many HSPs 98, in the MPTP model of PD, the increase in Hspb1 did not appear to be regulated by Hsf1 or Srebf1, the latter also being considered a potential anti-ferroptosis transcription factor (Figure 3F) 99.
