Since m6A modification is mainly catalyzed by the m6A methltransferase complex METTL3/METTL14 and removd by the demethylases FTO and ALKBH5, we speculated that the abnormal m6A modification in DS cardiac tissue was caused by the dysregulation of the methyltransferase and/or demethylases. This evidence concerns the gene METTL14 and Dravet syndrome.
