Here, the individualized brain‐wide z score maps revealed heterogenous atrophy patterns in the AD group; the extent of cortical thinning (i.e., in terms of deviation from the norm) in mild cognitive impairment (MCI) was predictive of conversion to AD and was also related to cognitive function, amyloid beta, phosphorylated tau, and apolipoprotein E (APOE) genotype. This evidence concerns the gene MAPT and Alzheimer disease.
