In the univariate analysis, six factors were found to be significantly associated with depression symptoms in adolescent girls with PCOS, including having hormonal contraception medicines (p = 0.001), perceived social support (p<0.001), belief illness (p = 0.001), sleep quality (p = 0.001), hirsutism (p = 0.002), and LH/FSH ≥ 2 (p<0.001) (Table 1). The gene discussed is PLOD1; the disease is major depressive disorder.
