Primary myelofibrosis (PMF) is a myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN) characterized by constitutional activation of the JAK–STAT signaling pathway and bone marrow (BM) fibrosis, which leads to decreased peripheral blood counts, proinflammatory state, and a potential for transformation to acute myeloid leukemia.
