APOA1 and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis: Large population-based cohort studies indicate that higher levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c) and its primary apolipoprotein, apolipoprotein B (ApoB) [10] and lower levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) and its primary apolipoprotein, apolipoprotein A1 (ApoA1) [11] are associated with ALS.
