A review revealed that among the genes reported to be associated with the diagnosis of bipolar disorder or dementia in previous GWAS studies, the overlapping gene was calcium voltage-gated channel subunit Alpha1 C (CACNA1C), gamma-aminobutyric acid B receptor 2 (GABBR2), sodium voltage-gated channel Alpha subunit 2 (SCN2A), cathepsin H (CTSH), methionine sulfoxide reductase A (MSRA), and SH3 and PX domains 2A (SH3PXD2A) (Table 2; Supplementary Figure 2). The gene discussed is GABBR2; the disease is bipolar disorder.
