Using the previously established corticosterone-induced model of post-partum depression (Workman et al., 2013) we found that daily chronic corticosterone injections (40 mg/kg) to the dams from day 2 to day 24 of the post-partum period decreased the density of reelin-positive cells, DCX-positive and dendritic complexity in the dorsal and intermediate hippocampal SGZ (Figures 1, 4, 5). This evidence concerns the gene DCX and postpartum depression.
