Initially, we investigated whether inhibitors of the HSP90/CDC37 chaperone complex (XL888) or the RAS/PI3K/AKT/mTOR axis modulate the ERK pathway in the melanoma cell line WM3928, which harbours the SKAP2::BRAF fusion oncogene [24], along with a PTEN loss-of-function mutation elevating AKT/mTOR signalling. This evidence concerns the gene SKAP2 and melanoma.
