While not all parameters characterizing the severity of AP reflected the difference between ATG16L1[E230] and WT mice, the significant increase of serum AMY (parameter utilized for the clinical diagnosis of AP) and trypsin (protease responsible for the autodigestion of the pancreas) in ATG16L1[E230] mice suggested a protective effect of LNCA. This evidence concerns the gene ATG16L1 and alkaline phosphatase measurement.
