The presence of high IL-6 (≥ 65.58 pg/mL) and low SIRS (< 2) values resulted in a subgroup (N = 50; 10.2%) with instances of 28-day mortality (Figure 3D), while no such specialized subgroups (for example, low IL-10 [Figure 3A], low CRP [Figure 3B], and low NEWS [Figure 3C]) were found for any other clinical scores and biomarkers. Here, CRP is linked to systemic inflammatory response syndrome.
