Many tumor suppressors have been proven to make cells sensitive to ferroptosis, such as p53, tumor suppressor BRCA1-related protein 1 (BAP1) (Zhang et al., 2018b), KEAP1 (Han et al., 2022), etc. Ferroptosis has been identified as one of the important causes of tumor cell death, such as non-small cell lung cancer (Wang et al., 2024b), breast cancer (Tong et al., 2023a), and pancreatic cancer (Rademaker et al., 2022). This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and neoplasm.
