Patients with concordant lateralisation on both unstimulated and stimulated AVS accounted for just over half of all patients who proceeded to surgery, whilst three other patients who lateralised only with ultra‐low dose ACTH also had adrenal adenomas confirmed on histology with normalisation of aldosterone‐to‐renin ratios on post‐operative biochemistry. This evidence concerns the gene POMC and adrenal cortex adenoma.
