In line with the changes in glucose and lipid profiles, we found that B. uniformis greatly lowered the mRNA levels of glucose-6-phosphatase (G6pase), phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK), fatty acid synthase (FAS), and sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1 (SREBP1) in the liver of T2DM mice (Figure 2n). Here, PCK2 is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
