GCG and type 1 diabetes mellitus: While sodium-dependent glucose transporters (SGLT) inhibitors have been approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) agonists, along with metformin, amylin mimetics, dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4) inhibitors, or even humanized monoclonal antibodies to CD3 on T cells, such as teplizumab, have been used with success in adult individuals with T1D [4,5] and in newly diagnosed pediatric individuals with T1D, respectively [6,7,8], the on- and off-label armamentarium against T1D in pediatric and adolescent individuals is still very poor.
