Alport syndrome (AS) is a hereditary glomerulopathy due to pathogenic variants in COL4A3, COL4A4, and COL4A5. Treatment with Renin–Angiotensin–Aldosterone System (RAAS) inhibitors can delay progression to end stage renal disease (ESRD). The gene discussed is COL4A5; the disease is stage 5 chronic kidney disease.
