In detail, MS patients (T0) expressed higher levels of PKCβII (median 1422; IQ: 974–1734 vs. median 967; IQ: 758–1297, p < 0.05), HIF-1α (median 602; IQ: 371–798 vs. median 413; IQ: 294–518, p < 0.05), and VEGF (median 401; IQ: 321–794 vs. median 357; IQ: 260–389, p < 0.05) compared to the HC group (Figure 1A–C).
