The activities of ADAM10 and ADAM17 in mouse livers with MASH are negatively regulated by reversion-inducing cysteine-rich proteins with Kazal motifs (RECKs), membrane-anchored glycoproteins [37], which were recently shown to be reduced in samples from patients with MASLD [38]. The gene discussed is ADAM17; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
