Here, we will discuss the most important signaling pathways that have been reported to be involved in the pathogenesis of hepatic fibrosis and carcinogenesis, including NF-κB, transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β), PI3/Akt, Hedgehog, Notch and mediators of angiogenesis (Figure 1). This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and Hepatic fibrosis.
