The increased expression of the β3 integrin has been implicated in drug resistance, including resistance to erlotinib and lapatinib in lung cancer and to linsitinib in pancreatic cancer, through interactions with galectin-3 and the activation of KRAS, RELB, and the NF-ΚB pathway [8,25]. This evidence concerns the gene RELB and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
