Though data is limited at present, a study of 58 adult-onset asthma subjects prescribed anti-IL-5 therapy (N = 29 mepolizumab, N= 16 reslizumab, and N = 6 benralizumab) demonstrated a mean reduction in BMI by 1.0 ± 3.4 in the overall cohort and by 1.7 ± 3.8 in the obese group [51]. The gene discussed is IL5; the disease is asthma.
