NTRK2 and Dystonia: Although the evidence of altered BDNF/TrkB signaling in corticostriatal synapses in dystonia is scarce, and more evidence is necessary to further clarify the specific modulatory plasticity mechanisms in dystonia, is it likely that the pathophysiology of many cases of dystonia involves changes in the dopaminergic system that seem to be correlated with plasticity and changes in BDNF signaling, at least in the symptomatologic genetic cases.
