This article summarizes the mechanistic role of cGAS-STING in acute myocardial infarction and subsequent IR injury, while also describing the current status of therapeutic approaches targeting the STING pathway in IR injury using inhibitors and nanomaterials targeting cGAS or STING, aiming to evaluate the potential of the cGAS-STING signaling pathway in myocardial infarction treatment. This evidence concerns the gene STING1 and myocardial infarction.
