In the network analysis of this triad (CRP, vitamin D, and HDL-C) in patients with hypertension, we found a change from a negative (in non-hypertensive individuals) to a positive (in hypertensive individuals) correlation between CRP and vitamin D. This was also reported in a large study that included more than 17.000 subjects and showed an inverse association between vitamin D and CRP levels when 25(OH) vitamin D was deficient. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is hypertensive disorder.
