Additionally, while molecular docking analysis suggested that GAPDH might be a key target of esculin for RCC—and we demonstrated that esculin can inhibit the expression of GAPDH, is associated with the PI3K/Akt pathway, and also inhibits glucose uptake—further investigation is needed to determine whether esculin can regulate GAPDH to influence the occurrence and progression of RCC.
