Zhang et al. [210] found that globular C1q/tumor necrosis factor-related protein-3 (gCTRP3) inhibited ovariectomy-induced osteoporosis through activation of the AMPK/SIRT1/Nrf2 signaling pathway in mice, further supporting a role for SIRT1 in protecting against estrogen-deficiency-induced bone loss via metabolic and oxidative stress pathways. This evidence concerns the gene NFE2L2 and osteoporosis.
