The pharmacologic inhibition of ferroptosis with liproxstatin-1 recovered the disrupted endothelial barrier and reversed the decreased expression of GPX4, as well as NLRP3 and IL-1β, in endothelial autophagy-deficient aged mice, which attenuated aging-related renal injury including the apoptosis of renal cells, abnormal structures of GBM, and tubulointerstitial fibrosis. This evidence concerns the gene NLRP3 and glioblastoma.
