In vitro, when bone-marrow derived macrophages from Bai1−/− mice were in co-culture with human glioma cells infected with HSV, the expression of TNFα by Bai1−/− macrophages was decreased compared to wild-type macrophages, suggesting that BAI1 downstream activation leads to TNFα expression increase. This evidence concerns the gene ADGRB1 and central nervous system cancer.
