The recognition of invading microbes signals the secretion of cytokines and chemokines, including interleukin-1 (IL-1β), IL-4, IL-6, IL-8, and IL-10 involved in recruiting phagocytes to the site of infection and activating pathogen-killing mechanisms [7,8], and subsequently recruits a huge amount of leukocytes into the infected quarter, causing an increase in SCC. Here, IL10 is linked to infection.
