However, in CRC tissues with liver metastasis, SDF-1 was predominantly cytoplasmic-stained, whereas CXCR4 was notably nuclear-stained, suggesting a distinct translocation from the cytoplasm to the nucleus, an unusual pathological phenomenon that is usually correlated with aggressive tumor behavior and metastatic potential (Figure 6D,H).
