Although CCL28 receptors CCR3 and CCR10 are expressed on eosinophils and on B and T cells (Pan et al., 2000; Höchstetter et al., 2000; Wang et al., 2000), the protective role of CCL28 during Salmonella infection does not seem to involve these cell types, as they did not vary in abundance between wild-type and Ccl28−/− mice during infection (Figure 1—figure supplements 4 and 5).
