Sanguinarine increases Fe2+ concentration, ROS levels and malondialdehyde content, and decreases GSH content. Meanwhile, Sanguinarine reduces the protein stability of GPX4 through E3 ligase STUB1-mediated ubiquitination and degradation of endogenous GPX4, which in turn inhibits the growth and metastasis of NSCLC by promoting ferroptosis. Here, STUB1 is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
