CNR2 and Anxiety: A review of the evidence coming from various animal models based on the CNR2 gene and SZ-related symptoms (where schizophrenia-like symptoms were induced via CB2R modulation) concluded that this receptor plays a significant role in the regulation of anxiety- and depressive-related behaviors, cognition and locomotion, all of which are intimately related with the symptoms of SZ (Banaszkiewicz et al., 2020).
