Although previous studies proposed that the infiltration of immune cells within tumors was higher than that in the peri-tumor region and could be further correlated with better prognosis (38–40), we found higher densities of CD20+ B cells, CD3+ T cells, CD8+ cytotoxic T cells, and CD68+ macrophage cells in the IM region compared to the IT and PT regions, with CD20+ B cell density associated with better prognosis and CD8+/CD3+ ratio with poorer prognosis. The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is neoplasm.
