CPSF6 and cancer: The knockdown of CFIm leads to the use of coding-region proximal poly(A) sites (pPAS) and global shortening of 3′UTRs (Gruber et al., 2012; Martin et al., 2012), which is why this protein has been actively researched in the context of cancers and ultimately implicated in the observed APA (reviewed in (Masamha, 2023)).
